The Pool is only accepting Associate applications from full members of the Development Trusts Association or those that have specific technical expertise that we are looking for. It is a fundamental tenet of Pool commissioning policy that where the skills fit the brief, we will initially offer this to full members (development trusts). We are keen to support the development trust movement as much as we can.

We think it's important to have independent consultants on board, they are often the ones with capacity, the ones who can take on work at short notice, or who will travel out of their region. They currently make up about a third of the Pool and we feel this is a good proportion of a model that should always have the members in mind, both in terms of income generation and skills sharing.

We ask all Pool associates to become members of the Development Trusts Association, which aligns them with our values and ideals. Information and costs to join as a full member or associate member can be found on the DTA website.
